Question Need appropriate words for falling down

I need to understand the difference of saying drop and fell and spill and many more that I am unaware of.

    1. when a cup of tea/juice/milk or any liquid drink come out of the cup due to you/me jumping - I say "Oh the milk spilled" and if we are asking someone then we say please don't spill the milk - Is this correct?

    2. When a chair is on the rug, and when I pulled the rug , the chair fell - what is the approriate word in that case.(like for humans we say tripped over his feet, but I know we can't say chair tripped over the rug)?

3 When a book is on my hand and it fell then what to say- the book dropped or the book fell?

Please all help me understanding this. Thanks all.

    Not a teacher.

To spill is to come out of a container of some sorts. Not just liquids, but that is common. A truck could overturn and spill boxes or money or anything. Not just liquids.

The chair could be said to have tipped over. I pulled the rug and the chair tipped over, or fell over.

I would say the book fell, or you dropped the book.
