    what is the difference between first and second sentence? what is the function of "do"?

    please teachers help me because of my homework...

    Here "do" is an intensifier, you are insisting that you love someone.

    Here is a practical example:
    Your girlfriend (or boyfriend):
    You often meet other girls (or boys).
    I have the feeling you don't love me anymore.

    Your answer:
    I do love you.

    I hope that was understandable.

    And please try to use capital letters as well:
    1-I love you.
    2- I do love you.

    What is the difference between the first and the second sentence? What is the function of "do"?

    Please, teachers, help me because of my homework!
