    As it was.

    A room in a house was burnt. Then, the owner is oredering the people in the household saying: "Clean the room. It has to return as it was before."

    I am not certain at all that the sentence in bold is said like this in English. So, how do you say it?

    No, the sentence is deficient.

    It has to return to being as it was before.

    It has to be as it was before.
    It must be returned to the state in which it was before.

    It must be returned to the state it was in before.
    It has to be renovated to its previous state.
