2. The health is the most important thing in my life

3. My mother is lawyer

4. They didnt went to the shop yesterday

5. Please give us some informations about your college

6. I am in Birmingham since February

7. My family is live in Baghdad

8. I will give it to you when i will find it

9. I want a job where I will get too much money

I know the errors but explaining them is so hard! I have a good grasp of English but it comes naturally. Please help!!!!

1. Verb Pattern- The structure always remains (say+(sth)+to+sby)
2. Health is an uncountable noun so you can`t put "the" before it.
3. Lawyer is not an adjective, it is a singular noun so it needs "a" ot "the" before it.
4. Tense- "Didn`t" is already changing the tense, so you do not have to put the main verb in the Past Simple.
5. "Information" is uncountable, so you can`t put it in plural.
6. If there is "since" you can`t use Present Simple.
7. IS LIVE? It has no meaning. There you need the Present Continuous.
8. Conditional- It is the first conditional (you do sth. if someone does sth./ If someone does sth. you will do sth)
9. You are talking about something that happens at present. You want a job that can give you a lot of money, not a job that will give you (in the future) a lot of money.

Wow, I've been thinking of doing CELTA for some time now and these questions are daunting. Its not that I cannot correct them (see above/bold areas), its just that I wouldn't know the terms like Leandro-Z does eg. uncountable nouns/present continous. Is a CELTA course focused on these or is this just a small aspect?

Ps. Have I made any mistakes on my corrections? I see they differ slightly to ones by Leandro-Z.

Hi

Thanks for that, there was also this other sentence

1. "My house is expensiver than yours."

a) please underline the error
b) explain why you think the error was made

I have written:

It is fine to say "cheaper than" in English. but words of three syllables use "more" i.e "more expensive than". The learner is thinking of the two syllable pattern.

Is that right? I need to do the same for the rest of the sentences (the ones above).

Can someone help me?

Thank you

Hi what does the part highlighted mean?

Verb Pattern- The structure always remains (say+(sth)+to+sby)

Thanks

See, I didn't even think of that, the first thing that hit me was that 'expensiver' isn't a word, it should be 'more expensive' or 'dearer'.

Don't you think you have already been given a lot of help and now it's down to you to provide the answers?
