    But now, with the luxury of hindsight, I could hold my own with wit and speak truth to power.

    Would you please help me out what the the sentence above is all about?

    With the word hindsight,shouldn't it be made in unreal conditional type?

    Hindsight means that looking back at your experience, you can glean further information that would've been helpful to know about. In this sentence, it means that "Had I known then what I know now, I would have been able to do fine with my wit and..."
