Dear friends...

Is there any saying in English whose meaning is close to this:?
:

Every smelly foot has its old boot!

Thanks

What does it mean? That there is a bigger cause behind every bad thing?

Where there's smoke, there's fire. Maybe??

No, it means no matter how "bad" we are, there's always a perfect match (somewhere) for us. By 'bad' I mean ugly, arrogant, or even smelly, etc.

- What an arrogant and stupid man, how did he manage to marry this girl in the first place?
- Well, every smelly foot has its old boot.
:-D (it'd mean the girl he's merried to is probably like him, otherwise she would not stand him)

However, I believe there must be some idiom/saying that is far more popular among natives.

Thanks for your time.

Hmm. I'll have to think about that.

Nothing is coming to mind right away. Now that I know what it means, I like it, though.

My dictionary says "There's a nut for every bolt" but I'm afraid it loses some of the meaning.

I've also heard people say simply, "there's someone for everyone." Somewhat related are the sayings "to each his own," meaning different people like different things (sometimes used to explain why a person would choose such an unappealing partner) and "it takes all kinds (to make a world)," meaning diversity is good.

There's a lid for every pot (ie there is an ideal match between two persons)

The other way around: There are more fish in the sea (do not worry about that one, there is another one out there for you)

Btw, I like yours.
