Hello Teachers! What's the difference between hope and wish?

Hello Teachers! What's the difference between hope and wish?

    For example:

I hope tomorrow will be a nice day.
I wish tomorrow will be a nice day.

Which one is correct? and why? Thank you.

    Hello, Harry.

    (1) I hope (that) tomorrow will be a nice day. = perfect English.

Native speakers also say is a nice day.

We use hope when we talk about something that is possible:

I hope (that) you will visit/ visit me tomorrow.

I hope (that) you will feel/feel better very soon.

I hope (that) it will stop/stops raining tomorrow.

    *****

    (2) We usually use wish for something that will probably not happen

    or is impossible:

I am ugly. I wish (that) I were/ (was in regular American English) handsome.

I am old. I wish that I were young.

There are many bad people in this world. I wish that everyone were nice.

We human beings often wish for (want) things that are different from

    what they are.

    ***

Let's say that there is a very bad storm today. It is raining cats and

dogs (very strongly). The government tells the people that there will be

bad weather for one week!!! You know that tomorrow will be very

bad. You know that you cannot go to the beach tomorrow. But you still

    think:

I am so sad today. I wish that tomorrow were a nice day. Then I could

go to the beach. But I know that tomorrow will not be a nice day, so I

have to forget about the beach.

    Thank you

One big difference is that only "wish" is used to express regret about something in the present or past.

They wish they had a car.
She wishes she had not dropped out of university.
I wish I could go to Japan with them, but I can't.
