I have a question which is connected with grammar

I need help. I am not that this sentence is correct: "The author explains the discussion at Dodgson College which is connected with the using of a bequest granted by the alumni". I concern about grammar.

Re: I have a question which is connected with grammar

Grammatically, the only problem is "use" instead of "using."

But it's very wordy and confusing.

The author relates a discussion at Dodgson College on how to use an alumni bequest.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Re: I have a question which is connected with grammar

Well, what is the exact question?

    The author explains something.
    This something is a discussion.
Where is this discussion? At the College.
What is this discussion about? It's about the money: using of a bequest.
Where does the bequest come from? It comes from the alumni.

This is a typical example of building sentences to the right: you've got something basic and then you expand the sentece - you give more details, and you put these details after the words you want to describe more closely.
