    Cool do as if....

    Hi,

    Are the two following sentences correct?

    'Do as if I weren't here...'

    'Act as if I weren't here.... '

    weren't or wasn't? or either?

    In French: 'Faites comme si j'étais pas lá'.

    Weren't.

    But:

    Act as if I weren't here = fine.
    Behave as if I weren't here = fine.
    Do as if I weren't here = incorrect. You would have to say "Do it as if I weren't here" (whatever "it" is!)
