    an olive branch

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

If this was an olive branch, Dondolo was tempted to take it, just because he had gone too far.

olive branch = a branch of an olive tree regarded as an emblem of peace (an offer of peace)

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V
