    Is this sentence correct ?

    Is this sentence correct ?

The most popular destination in 1979, Spain, remained so in 1999 receiving 4,500,000 tourists in that year

Why there is NO comma between 1999 and receiving ?

    Thanks

That's a good question. I would use a comma there.
