    It doesn't sound ok to me? How would you say?

    It's sounds alright to me.
    "I still love you, even though the more I run after you, the more you run away."
    "The more I run after you, the more you run away. Nevertheless, I still love you."

    What problem do you have with it?

    It mightn't be the best way to write the sentence, but in this case it's correct.
    Another example:
    "Even if the more you work, the more you earn, progressive taxation reduces some of the motivation."
    Even if [statement], [another statement].

    <A> => "the more...the more..."

    The title of this thread suggest you were trying to parse something that wasn't a meaning-bearing unit.
