    "I saw him while going" check this sentence

    If I want to say that I saw a person when I was going somewhere,should I say the following?

    "I saw him, while going"?

    Please give sugession

    I would avoid that exact phrasing, because while it's not wrong exactly, it could potentially be confusing to a listener if you or he were going (wherever) - especially if you aren't talking to a native English speaker.

    It would be better clarified and sound just as natural to say either "I saw him while I was going (wherever)" or "I saw him while on my way to (wherever)" as both these examples make it 100% clear that it is you who are travelling to the stated destination.

    What about this one?
    "I saw him at the time of going"... I asked one of my students' (No,No,I don't teach english) and she wrote this one and show it to her private tutor, he said it's ok.
    But is it really correct?
