heart and soul / in favor of

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

Amelia’s maid … was heart and soul in favor of the generous major.

    heart and soul = dedicatedly

in favor of = in support of; approving

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V

heart and soul = dedicatedly completely, one hundred percent

in favor of = in support of; approving

    Thanks for your efforts.
