    would be / will be

What is the difference between these two?

I don't think visiting her would be a good idea.
I don't think visiting her will be a good idea.

    Thanks.

I would say this when I don't want to impose my view on the listener:
I would not think visiting her is a good idea.

This one could be a little insistent in asking you to take the advice:
I don't think visiting her is a good idea.

    hi Jiamajia,

I think you have not got the question asked by Nathan.
I think 'will' sounds more emphatic than 'would'. When you say "it will be a good idea", you are more emphatic and more sure.when you you use "would", you are less sure

    HI jiamajia
I think you have not got the question asked by Nathan.
I think "will" sounds more emphatic than "would". when we say "It will be a good idea", I am more sure and emphatic than if use "would".

I know. I would like to ask a secondary question on the nuance between the two if users consider it relevant to the thread and are interested in replying:

I would not think visiting her is a good idea.
I don't think visiting her would be a good idea.

    Thank you.

"I dont think visiting her would be a good idea"
This one is correct because the act of thinking is in the present not future
