    Cool Present continuous

    Hello!

I understand the use of the present continuous but it still confuses me sometimes!

    Are the following sentences correct?:

-"Our kid goes to the day care center when we are working. " Would it be better to use the present
    simple" when we work"?

-"If you leave, I leave". Would it be better to say "If you're leaving, I'm leaving"?

    Thanks a lot
    W

    Re: Present continuous

    -not a teacher-

For number one, present simple tense sounds better.

The second one sounds like one is threatening the other.
I personally think, 'If you leave, then I'll leave, too.' sounds natural, but
I also think if someone wants to impress the hearer, using simple tense would be nice too. I've never thought using of present continuous though. It doesn't sound natural to me.

    Not necessarily.
