    do somebody a bad turn

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

Go to Crawley. Use my name. He won’t refuse my friend, for I could do him an ill turn.

do somebody an ill / bad turn = do someone a disservice

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V.
