Hello, teachers! What's the difference between these two phrases?

Hello, teachers。 What's the difference between these two phrases?
1 see sb. do sth. 2 see sb. doing sth.

eg. 1 I saw Jim walk in the park yesterday.
2 I saw Jim walking in the park yesterday.

    Thank you!

The difference is when you see sb do sth, that's to say you see the whole process
but when you see sb doing sth it means that you merely see the process partly.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Nathan Mckane Thank you!

But I am still confused with it.

I got another explanation that see sb doing sth that means the person is doing sth when I see him. see sb do sth that means the person has finished doing that but I saw what he did.

I don't know which one is correct?

    Teachers, please help us!

    I would agree with Nathan.

In the sentence: I saw Jim walking in the park yesterday.

You saw him walk all right, but maybe you didn't see him run after that.
