what is "on" meaning in the sentence followin.
- My mind stopped on that phrase.
what are the other examples meaning the same?
Or of course, you are literally stopping on top of something. In fact, the former is probably related to the latter.
Another example or two:
The butterfly stopped on the pink flower.
I stopped on the corner of the road to chat to my friend Kate.
You could use stopped at in the latter example as well, but it would sound odd in the first because the first has a very definite physical meaning as well as a temporal one.
