    our number has up

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

When the door had closed behind the departing directors, Soames sought a window as far as possible from the lunch eaten before the meeting. “Funeral baked meats, eh, Forsyte?” said a voice in his ear. “Our number’s up I think.”

our number's come = our number's up = our number's gone = our tale is told = we are played out = our is dead and gone

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V

    Re: our number has up

It's our number is up, but you're right about the meaning.
