    is this good English

Could you, please, tell if the three sentences below sound OK in English:

    1. There is some time.
    2. There is some staff.
    3. There is some suff.

1 and 3 are OK, I don't like #3, even "there are some staff" is not good. Where do you want to use it?

    Re: is this good English

    Hello,
I was taught it can be treated singular or plural:

    - a staff of 600
    - The survey showed, that the staff in this company seems undervalued.
    - Hospital staff were not to blame. (this examle from Oxford Dict.)
