    sleep late

What is the meaning if this sentence?

We usually sleep late on sundays.

Does it mean the they go to bed late at night?
Or does it mean they sleep till after sunrise?

    Thanks.

It means that they stay in bed until later than usual on Sunday mornings. People who work Monday to Friday (or Monday to Saturday) usually take the opportunity to stay in bed for longer in the mornings on the days when they don't have to go to work.

In BrE, we call this "having a lie-in" (meaning we "lie in bed" longer than usual).

Sorry, but I must disagree. "To sleep late" means to stay asleep later/longer than usual. To mean "go to bed late at night", you would say "We usually go to bed late on Sundays" or "We usually go to sleep late on Sundays".

    Re: sleep late

No one in his/her right mind would go to bed late in preparation for school or a job first thing on Monday. If people go to bed late that's what they do. Typically, they don't do it on Sunday.

    Re: sleep late

PS - Normally I would not mention this, but you are careful about capitalization otherwise, so I thought it worth mentioning that the days of the week are capitalized: Sundays.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
