Hey guys, I don't understand when we should use 'on' or 'in' when we are referring to the word 'black market' and why. Could anyone help me?
Thank you very much.

The answer is complicated and, I'm sure, confusing. I will start, and perhaps others will add to it.
"on" is more common and is usually used when talking about the buying and selling.
She bought it on the black market.
"in" would be used to talk about the people who sells things there.
He works in the black market.
If one said 'He works on the black market.', it would suggest that his work relates to the black market. Perhaps he is an expert on the black market, and his job is to find ways of reducing activity in the black market.
