    ostrich policy

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

    Ostrich policy, wrong way
Don't fall asleep or you'll have to pay
    Draconian penalty, right way
    Ready to explode

ostrich policy = policy based on self-deception

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Re: ostrich policy

More or less. Someone buries their head in the sand like an ostrich when having a problem they choose to ignore it and think it will somehow dissapear. An ostrich policy is a policy of ignoring problems.
