    Can & Could

    Sir
Today I saw two sentences which confused me. They are
1: Can you anwser my question?
2: Could you anwser my question?

What is the difference between "can" & "could" here.
When "Can" and when "Could" will be used?
    Kindly clear its uses also.

Good Night (Have a nice dream)

    Re: Can & Could

    A guess.

Can is used to refer to ability of doing an action.
    Can you play basketball?

Could is more like of a request/plead.
Could you hand that glass for me?

In your given sentences, I would choose 1.
