Question "His face" and "He's face"

    Hi!
This is my first post and I'd like to thank you for this very interesting forum.

I have a question in my mind since yesterday. Sometimes I find two similar ways to say one thing. Are they both correct?
I am Italian and talking about someone's face, we sometimes say "His face" and "The face of him" (I don't know if the second one is correct). Is "He's face" a different way of saying "His face" or is it just an error? I sometimes find both when I surf the web. And in these cases are used for talking about someone's face.

This may be a stupid question, I hope that you'll be kind to me: this is my first post and every correction is a blessing.

    Thank you.

    Andrea.

Re: "His face" and "He's face"

    Hi Andrea,

The word "He's" is a contraction of "He is". Therefore, if you were to write "He's face...", it basically means "He is face...". In this case, only "His face..." is acceptable. Hope that helps!
