A person has a crash with their car and says:
I need your help right now.
You help the person one time (let's say for some minutes) and everything is okay.
A person plans to build a new house, which would take years.
Then s/he says:
I need your help as of now.
So your help is needed several times.
It's similar to, "From now on I will need your help."
I hope it was clear enough.
P.S. Please check the quotation because I corrected some of your mistakes.
