    Question singular or plural?

    Hello.
I would like to know if the example sentence below should take plural or singular for 'outcome'.
Also 'The' before 'outcome' is needed?

    -----------------
The outcomes of the cold and nausea were unknown.
    -----------------

    Thanks for your help!

It should be "outcome" singular, but I'm not sure what you want to say with this sentence. What do you mean by "the outcome of the cold and nausea"?

    Re: singular or plural?

    Hi bhaisahab.
    Thanks for your posting.
I am working on some medical writing.
The sentence means that some patient got cold and also nausea but if he/she recovered or not from them was unknown.
So, 'The outcome of the cold and nausea was unknown.' is the right sentence?
How about putting 'or' instead of 'and'?
'The outcome of the cold or nausea was unknown.'

    Thanks again.
