    a happy dispatch

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

Hes gone at last! Well, it is a happy dispatch: he was a misery to himself and everyone else.

    a happy dispatch = deliverance

    Thank you for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V.

    It's a merciful release.
