This is my first question to be posted in this forum, as the English is my second langauge, I always facing some problems in term of structure, grammar and asking a question. I have a problem when trying to structur a questions, easpicially "WH" type,
Could any one, give me the standard question's structure that will help me when create any question, such us, astrategic or some thing else.
Thanks in advance
1. Put the "Wh" word first.
2. Swap the subject and verb
The dog is outside the house. -> Where is the dog?
That person is my father. -> Who is that person?
It's a bit more complicated for past tense:
Note that in the following, there is still a pattern. Question word, auxiliary, subject, main verb, rest of sentence.
He ran home quickly. -> How did he run home? (ran = did run)
She told me to be quiet. -> Why did she tell me to be quiet? (told = did tell).
He was running. -> Why was he running?
My sister is baking a cake in the kitchen. Where is my sister baking a cake?
My father has been fishing. -> Where has my father been?
He had built a house. -> What had he built?
