Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?
She put it on the palm of Catalina’s hand. It made her heard beat nineteen to dozen. (Maugham’s “Catalina”, chapter XXIX)
nineteen to the dozen = without a break
