    From active to passive voice.

    Dear teachers,

    I heard my name called.

With reference to the above sentence, you are kindly requested to let me know whether the passive voice " My name was heard called by me. " is considered natural to the native speakers of English.

    Sincerely yours,
    Sariputra

No, not at all. Some structures simply do not take the passive.

Thank you Mr. Micawber for your kind answer. Additionally I would like to know whether " My name was heard to be called." is considered to be natural to the native speakers of English.

Re: From active to passive voice.

'My name was heard [being] called' sounds more natural to me, but I wouldn't use it if I were the person who heard it.
