    Tense question

Is it possible/correct to use "would" instead of "used to"? E.g. "He used to get angry with his brother when they were little."
"He would get angry with his brother when they were little."

    Re: Tense question

***Neither a teacher nor a native speaker.***

Both sentences have a completely different meaning!
He used to get angry with his brother when they were little.
Once (when they were little) he used to get angry.
Now (they are not little anymore) he doesn't get angry anymore.

He would get angry with his brother if they were little.
Now they have no problems with each other.
    However, imagine they were kids.
    Then he would get angry.

As said, grammatically seen both sentences are possible, but their meanings are nothing alike.

    Cheers!

Yeah, I know. But I heard somewhere (I don't recall now) "would" used in the sense of "used to" (i.e. indicating a repeated action in the past). I can't even remember the exact example.

Yes, you are right. "Would" can be used in the same way as "used to", for example, "When I was young I lived near the sea and I would go swimming every day".
