    down to earth

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

The plans were down to earth. (Snow’s”The Sleep of Reason” , chapter XXXVIII)

be down to earth = come back to earth = be a realist ( down to earth adj. true-to-life , life-like)

    Thank you for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V

    Re: down to earth

It seems to me that the plans were based on facts, not illusions or ideas.
