    in hock

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

After buying my luxury Opel, I was in hock for years.

in hock = owing money to a person or organization, or forced to do things for them because they have lent you money or have helped you

to be in hock = to be heavily in debt

    Thank you for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V
