    few

    Dear all,

"because few people seem to think him very bright"

In the sentence above, few people, means quite some people or only a little of them?

    thank you

It means a very small number of people. "few" is commonly used in the negative sense meaning "almost none or nothing"
"a few" is used in positive sense meaning "a considerable number"
Same is the case with "little" and "a little" which are used for quantity
