    Word Usage

    Hi Teacher

I would like to ask you to compare the following sentences.

1-Mr James has received recognition as an outstanding teacher.
2-Mr James has been recognized as an outstanding teacher.

They each are gramatically corrected and convey the same meaning?

    Thank in advance.

Yes, they are and they do.

Yes, they are both grammatically correct, and mean the same.
    It's a choice between using a verb or a noun: recognition (n)/recognize (v).
He received forgiveness. = He was forgiven.
He received a hit (n) on the head. = He was hit (v) on the head.
    etc.

    Hi Teacher Raymott and Rover_KE,

Thank you very much for your comment on both sentences.
I may have plenty of things to ask you. :)

Wish both of you good luck and success in your career.
