    mainbout

    The reason I'm asking is that I was watching a boxing match Klichko vs Piter when the following line popped od on the screen:

    "Mainbout bout starts in a few minutes"

    I have been trying to look it up in many dictionaries but haven't come up with any result so far.

    ***neither a teacher nor a native-speaker***

    Check;

    bout - definition of bout by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

    It might be the match of the night, the match that the fans have been waiting to watch.

    Re: mainbout

    Euncu is right.

    It's a shortened form of 'The main bout starts in a few minutes'.

    Mainbout should be two words.

    On the screen it was together. Was it a mistake?
