    feel exhausted

Am I right in thinking the 'feel' in this sentence simply means 'look' or 'give people an impression of' rather than 'experience an emotion or a physical feeling':

While black does give the appearance of a slimmer figure by making the shadows less visible, wearing it next to the face brings out a negative effect. Black clothing can highlight dark lines under the chin, shadows around the eyes and wrinkles on the face. The effect can be as serious as making women feel exhausted, self-conscious and introverted. Wrinkles and sunken areas appear deeper and more pronounced,...

    Thank you in advance

    Thanks a lot, Gillnetter.

So when we wear black, it will exhaust us? The original text seems not easy to understand.

    Re: feel exhausted

    It's news to me, too.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
