    Break down on the interstate

    Dear teachers,

I have read a sentence like this in a book:

"I have seen enough American movies to know never to trust anyone who stops to help you when you break down on the interstate."

Could you please tell me the reasons why? Thank you.

Re: Break down on the interstate

He has seen several American films in which motorists break down and are offered help by people who appear to be Good Samaritans but who turn out to be murderous psychopaths.
