    Hi and welcome to Using English.

    I wish I had [done something].
    I wish I had visited my grandmother more before she died.
    I wish I had taken piano lessons when my parents offered.
    I wish I hadn't taken statistics -- it was useless and brought my grade point average down.

    Is that what you mean?
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
