    the back wall of

    Hi!

"I walked out into the back yard [...], to where the kid stood kicking a stray golf ball against the back wall of the garage."

    I can't visualize the kid's action.
Is he in the yard or in the garage?
Is the back wall inside the garage (that means it is opposite to the entrance of the garage) or outside it (that means he is in the yard)?

    Thanks. :)

PS: It's not "the back wall IN the garage".

It says he walked into the back yard.

The kid is also outside, behind the garage, bouncing the ball off of the rear wall of the garage. From the outside.
