    see for yourself

Hi, what does this sentence mean? Especially, the phrase "See for yourself"?

    Thanks

You can see for yourself that we are living from hand to mouth here.

    Re: see for yourself

It means that it is evident to anyone who looks. You don't need someone to tell you, or have to read it in a book. You can easily see it yourself.

You can see for yourself that we are living from hand to mouth here.
You can perceive, by being physically present here, that we are providing only our immediate, basic needs.
