    old, ancient and early

    Hi there,
Could you show the difference between old, ancient and early, please?
    E.g.:
    old religions
    ancient religions
    early religions

    Many thanks.

    Re: old, ancient and early

Without further context, they mean the same to me.

To me early suggests that they were replaced by more sophisticated or better ones ones, though this might be controversial with religious beliefs.
