    post time

    Dear all,

What is the meaning of "post time" in the following context:

A CASHIER says to a man:

Thatís 43 000 if you hit Jasper.Good luck Jasper, I hope tonightís your night, post time in 40 seconds.

I knew that it has to do with horse racing but what "40 seconds" refers to here?

    Thanks a lot.
