    Question confusing words

I'd like to ask as to what is the difference between these sentences, or do these sentences mean one thing.

I often go to the movies.
    I often go the theaters.
I often go to the movie theaters.
( Does it have something to do with the variations in the English language: British or American, or Asian English ?)

Also, why do we say "I've got a headache", "I've got a cold" when these nouns are considered uncountable? I mean why do we use an article? Is there a specific rule behind it?

    thank you so much!

    Re: confusing words

In BrE, we say 'the movies', though that is an American import. Otherwise, we'd say 'the cinema' or 'the flicks'. I haven't heard 'movie theater' in the UK.

You can count headaches and colds- you can have a headache every day and several colds a year. however, this isn't always logical- we don't count 'flu'. You'll just have to accept this, I'm afraid.
