There was one good thing came out of nearly being shish kabobbed; Jenna started talking to me again. She came by my room the morning after the party to check on me, stand¬ing uncertainly in the doorway. “How are you feeling?”I scooted back onto my pillows and tried to shrug. That sent a fire bolt of pain through my whole upper body, though, and I grimaced. “Oh, you know. Like I got stabbed by glass from hell. But it’s getting better.”
were those two characters almost shish kabobbed by shards of broken glass?
If so, I would presume that he is referring to the "fire bolt of pain" that went through his body. He used this phrase for her to be able to imagine how he was feeling.
When you're stabbed with something that is 'hot as hell' the heat is going to immediately spread out from where the object enters your body, like a heat wave, if you will.
I could be totally wrong about this. This is just me interpreting
