    Usage of preposition "On"

The following is an extract from the bible, and I am not sure what "on" in the sentence means, and can you present some more examples of the same meaning or usage so I can get the bettter understanding of"On".

    - Don't let the sun go down on your anger

    Thank you in advance.

    Re: Usage of preposition "On"

I think it means don't still be angry by the end of the day.

There is a song that has the words

don't let the sun go down on me

meaning don't let the sun leave me

    You can say

Don't let the sun set on an arguement.

don't cheat on me - meaning their girlfriend or boyfriend should not play about with someone else

Some people prey on the weak

It refers to the relationship between one thing and another.
