Dear all,

What is the suitable meaning of "draft" in this context:

{Again it's a song}

"The breeze blows in little laughs."
"Hugs the seasons, kisses each draft."

I think here, too, that the two verbs "hugs" and "kisses" refers to "the breeze", right?

So what does "draft" mean here?

Thanks a lot.

Yes, "the breeze" seems to be the subject for the verbs "hug" and "kiss," but "each draft" is their object.
The breeze hugs the seasons and kisses each draft.

So "draft" could stand for "sketch" or "try."
The breeze hugs the seasons and kisses each simple nature draft/subject/motif.

Again, this is just a try, as Gillnetter says, Songs and poems don't have to make sense.

I can't understand. You mean "a natural view"??

No, I meant a "nature sketch" or a "nature creation/motif."
Each little simple aspect of nature.
Each simple "view" if you wish.
That is what I meant.

But SoothingDave's interpretation is clearly much better in this context.

Yes, "wind" would be the simplest word. "Draft" means air that is felt moving indoors. "Breeze" is a word for light or pleasant winds.

I prefer the poetical waft, whiff, a whiff of fresh air, breath of air, puff, a puff of wind to the prosaic draft.
