    Unhappy correct phrase

    hi just want to ask about a prase in my kids english books it says what are these showing a picture of some apples should it say theses are apples or they're apples please let me know

    If the answer is a result of viewing the picture in the book and responding to the question, it should be "they're apples".

    Hi. I just wanted to ask about a phrase in kid's English book. It ways "What are these showing?" with a picture of some apples. Should it say "These are apples" or "They're apples"? Please let me know.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
